The Reforma Northeast Chapter
Professional Development Award

The REFORMA Northeast Chapter Professional Development Award provides financial assistance in the amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600) to be used towards the cost (registration, hotel and travel) of attending the American Library Association Annual Conference.

The REFORMA Northeast Chapter Professional Development Award Sub-Committee encourages every member of the chapter to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to participate in ALA's Annual Conference. Only active members of REFORMA Northeast Chapter can apply for this award. Corporate and Sub-Committee members are also not eligible to apply for this award.

RNE created the Professional Development award:

  • To increase RNE presence at the ALA annual conference
  • To increase and help nurture professional development
  • To encourage interest and continued active participation in RNE
  • To increase benefits of being an active member of RNE

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Attend the ALA Annual Conference
  • Attend two days of conferences
  • Attend the annual REFORMA Membership meeting and REFORMA Bash at ALA Annual
  • Attend the ALA exhibits
  • Report in person on the ALA Annual Conference at the next RNE meeting

The committee will judge nominations on:

  • RNE meeting attendance
  • Submission of a one page essay stating the reasons why you would like to attend the ALA Annual Conference

If the recipient will be unable to attend the ALA Annual Conference and complete the terms of the award, he/she must notify the Sub-Committee chair and return any funds received.
